Dyer Baade advises Shackleton / Skerritts on five Wealth Management M&A transactions

(London, 2023/24) Dyer Baade & Company has advised Shackleton / Skerritts on five transactions as part of the group’s continued growth in the UK wealth management market.

The mandates demonstrate Dyer Baade’s ability to support an acquisitive wealth management platform across multiple transactions, combining sector knowledge, transaction execution and an understanding of the strategic considerations that drive successful consolidation.

Supporting a leading wealth management consolidator

Shackleton / Skerritts has pursued an active acquisition strategy focused on building a high-quality wealth management business through a combination of organic growth and carefully selected acquisitions.

Dyer Baade has advised the group on five transactions, supporting the identification, assessment and execution of acquisitions across the UK wealth management market.

The relationship has required a detailed understanding of the commercial and strategic factors that determine whether an acquisition creates long-term value, including the quality of recurring revenues, adviser and client retention, cultural fit, integration risk and the strategic rationale for each transaction.

Dyer Baade’s role

Across the five transactions, Dyer Baade has supported Shackleton / Skerritts at different stages of the acquisition process, including:

  • assessing strategic fit and transaction rationale;

  • valuation and financial analysis;

  • transaction structuring;

  • supporting negotiations with vendors and shareholders;

  • coordinating advisers and other stakeholders;

  • managing key elements of transaction execution through to completion.

The repeated mandates reflect the importance of combining transaction expertise with a detailed understanding of the wealth management sector and the economics of consolidation.

Paul Feeney, CEO of Shackleton / Skerritts said: “It was a pleasure to have worked with Dyer Baade. Daniel and the team are very experienced in all aspects of successful deal management. Great attention to detail, very knowledgeable, always calm and focused on providing exceptional advice to their clients. Highly recommended.”

Dr Daniel Baade, CEO of Dyer Baade & Company, commented: “We have greatly enjoyed supporting Shackleton / Skerritts across five transactions. Successful consolidation in wealth management is about considerably more than simply completing acquisitions. The quality of the underlying businesses, cultural fit, client proposition and ability to integrate successfully are all critical. It has been a privilege to support the team as they continue to build a high-quality business in the UK wealth management market.”
