Lockhart welcomes Northcote Equity as minority investment partner

(London, 06 August 2026) Lockhart Capital Management, the UK-based financial planning and wealth management firm, has welcomed Northcote Equity as a minority investment partner to support the next phase of its long-term growth. The investment will enable Lockhart to continue investing in its clients, people and technology while preserving the firm's independent culture and employee-led ownership model.

Founded in 2017, Lockhart manages more than £1 billion of client assets on behalf of more than 400 families. With offices in Cobham, Aberdeen, and Leeds, the firm provides highly personalised advice and investment management to a select group of high-net-worth individuals and families.

The partnership will enable Lockhart to continue enhancing its technology and infrastructure, further strengthen its team, attract high-quality advisers and specialists, and selectively expand its presence in existing and new regions. Clients will continue to benefit from the same highly personalised service, with no changes to their day-to-day relationships or fee arrangements.

Lockhart will remain majority owned and controlled by its employees, with the founding partners and wider management team retaining a significant ownership stake and continuing to lead the business.

Jon Bowes, CEO and Founding Partner at Lockhart, said: “Since founding Lockhart, our ambition has always been to build an enduring business that can support clients and their families for generations. This partnership strengthens our ability to deliver on that ambition. Northcote shares our long-term outlook and our belief that exceptional client outcomes are built on independence, trusted relationships and consistently high standards of advice. Their investment gives us additional resources to invest in our people, technology and future growth, while preserving the qualities that make Lockhart distinctive."

Matthew Charman, Co-Founder at Northcote Equity, added: “When we first met Jon and the team, we were drawn to Lockhart’s focus on delivering exceptional client service, building long-term relationships and offering a market-leading investment solution via Lockhart Asset Management. We are delighted to be partnering with Jon and the wider team to support the next stage of the firm's development, while preserving the boutique culture and client-first approach that have underpinned its success."

Dr. Daniel Baade, CEO at Dyer Baade & Company and lead adviser to Lockhart: “We greatly enjoyed working with the partners of Lockhart Capital Management on this important transaction. Lockhart is one of the leading high-net-worth advice businesses in the UK. Northcote’s investment will support the company’s continued growth and help it build an even stronger position in this segment of the market, while preserving the distinctive culture and DNA that have underpinned its success.”

“Daniel understood from the outset what made the business special and what mattered to us as partners. Dyer Baade & Company approached a carefully selected group of high-quality investors from the UK and overseas with complete discretion. Through a highly intelligent process, Daniel and the team helped us find a partner that understands our business and shares our ambitions. We were deeply impressed by the quality of their advice from start to finish.” said Jon Bowes (CEO and Founding Partner at Lockhart)

Chris Cole, Founding Partner at Lockhart added: “Working with the Dyer Baade & Company team was an excellent experience. They understood our high-net-worth proposition, managed the interests of multiple stakeholders and remained calm and focused throughout a demanding process. Their sector knowledge and process leadership were instrumental in achieving such a successful outcome.”
