Head of Marketing – Growth & Performance
About us
Dyer Baade & Company is a mid-market M&A advisory firm focused on delivering high-quality sell-side and strategic advisory mandates. We operate in a performance-driven, relationship-led environment where precision, discretion, and execution excellence are non-negotiable.
We are now hiring a commercially minded Head of Marketing – Growth & Performance to build and scale a measurable marketing engine that directly contributes to deal origination.
This is a senior, hands-on role with full ownership of strategy, execution and ROI.
About the role:
You will design and execute a marketing function that:
Positions the firm as a leading authority in mid-market M&A
Converts insight-driven content into qualified inbound deal flow
Builds and optimises paid acquisition channels
Establishes clear attribution from marketing activity to mandate revenue
This is not a brand-awareness role. It is a growth and performance role.
Key Responsibilities:
Own the firm’s content and thought leadership strategy across website: YouTube, LinkedIn and Instagram. You will translate complex M&A concepts into authoritative, commercially compelling content that builds trust with founders and corporate decision-makers. The objective is to systematically position the firm as a leading voice in mid-market transactions.
Design and execute a high-performance paid media strategy: You will manage Ads across the different channels with a disciplined focus on CAC, conversion rates and ROI. Continuous A/B testing, funnel optimisation and budget allocation will sit under your direct ownership.
Build and optimise full-funnel lead generation infrastructure: You will develop conversion pathways including whitepapers, webinars and consultation funnels, ensuring seamless CRM integration and measurable pipeline attribution. Marketing activity must translate into qualified deal conversations.
Establish rigorous analytics and reporting frameworks: You will create dashboards tracking cost per lead, marketing-qualified leads, sales-qualified leads and revenue contribution by channel. Monthly reporting to the CEO must include performance analysis and clear optimisation actions.
Manage external marketing resources and budget discipline: You will coordinate freelancers and specialist partners (video, design, paid media, SEO), ensuring consistent quality and brand positioning. Marketing spend must be tightly controlled and demonstrably value-accretive.
Develop and implement a scalable marketing operating model: You will introduce structured processes, content pipelines and automation where appropriate, enabling sustainable growth without unnecessary overhead. The function should be built to scale alongside the firm’s deal volume ambitions.
Candidate Profile
Extensive B2B marketing experience in high-performance, high-pressure environments. You bring 6–10+ years of experience operating in commercially demanding settings where outcomes, deadlines and accountability are non-negotiable. You are comfortable working with senior stakeholders and navigating complex, high-value decision cycles.
Demonstrated ownership of performance marketing outcomes. You have directly managed paid acquisition budgets and can evidence improvements in CAC, conversion rates and return on ad spend. You are comfortable being held accountable for measurable commercial impact rather than vanity metrics.
Strong analytical and technical marketing capability. You are confident working with GA4, CRM systems and marketing automation tools, and you understand attribution modelling across multi-touch funnels. Data informs your decisions, but you can translate insights into clear strategic action.
High-quality written and strategic communication skills. You can articulate complex financial concepts in a clear, authoritative and persuasive manner suitable for founders and senior executives. Your content builds credibility without sacrificing accessibility.
Commercially driven and structurally disciplined. You think in terms of pipeline contribution and revenue impact rather than brand awareness alone. You operate with rigour, introduce process where needed and bring a high-ownership mindset to a lean environment.
Comfortable operating autonomously at senior level. You are self-directed, decisive and capable of setting priorities without excessive oversight. You are equally comfortable shaping strategy and executing tactically when required.
