Saltus acquires Skybound Financial Planning from Skybound Capital
(London, 28 February 2026) Dyer Baade & Company acted as exclusive financial adviser to Skybound Capital and the shareholders of Skybound Financial Planning on the sale of the business to Saltus.
Skybound Capital is an international alternative investment manager specialising in private capital strategies. The group manages more than $2 billion of assets and operates across the UK, Africa, Australia and Asia.
The transaction therefore represented an institutional divestment for Skybound Capital, rather than simply the sale of a privately owned UK financial planning business.
Skybound Financial Planning is a Chartered Financial Planning business based in Poole, providing personalised financial advice to private clients across areas including investments, retirement planning, inheritance tax and later-life planning.
Saltus is a scaled UK financial planning and investment management group. Founded in 2004, the business has grown organically and through selective acquisitions and today advises on more than £11 billion of client assets.
The transaction brought together two businesses with a shared emphasis on high-quality financial planning, long-term client relationships and independent advice. For Saltus, the acquisition expanded its financial planning capabilities and geographic presence. For Skybound Capital, the transaction provided an opportunity to realise its investment in the UK advice business and place Skybound Financial Planning with a specialist strategic owner capable of supporting its next phase of development.
The acquisition completed on 27 February 2026, when Saltus Financial Planning became the controlling shareholder of Skybound Financial Planning.
Conrad Amm, Group CEO of Skybound Capital, commented on Dyer Baade's role:
“The team at Dyer Baade provided invaluable advice from preparation through to completion. Their ability to create competitive tension and navigate a complex process was instrumental in securing the right partner and achieving an excellent result.”
Dr Daniel Baade, CEO of Dyer Baade & Company and lead adviser to Skybound Capital on the transaction, said:
“We were delighted to advise Skybound Capital and the shareholders of Skybound Financial Planning on this transaction. Skybound Capital approached the process as an institutional shareholder, with a clear focus on achieving an attractive outcome while identifying the right long-term strategic owner for the business.
“Successful transactions in wealth management are rarely driven by valuation alone. Cultural alignment, adviser quality, client continuity and long-term strategic fit are often equally important. Saltus offered a strong combination of scale, financial planning expertise and strategic ambition, making it a compelling home for the business, its advisers and clients.”
Advising an international institutional shareholder
The transaction demonstrates Dyer Baade's ability to advise institutional owners as well as founders and management teams on strategic transactions in the wealth management sector.
While Skybound Financial Planning was a UK financial advice business, Dyer Baade's principal client was Skybound Capital - an international alternative investment manager with a global operating footprint and more than $2 billion of assets under management.
The mandate therefore required consideration of the transaction from both perspectives: achieving an attractive investment outcome for an institutional shareholder while identifying a strategic buyer capable of providing continuity and a strong long-term home for the underlying operating business.
This distinction is important. Dyer Baade regularly works with private equity firms, asset managers, corporates and other institutional shareholders alongside founder-owned businesses, tailoring the transaction process to the objectives and governance requirements of each client.
Dyer Baade's role
Dyer Baade & Company advised Skybound Capital and the shareholders of Skybound Financial Planning throughout the transaction, including strategic positioning, buyer identification and engagement, management of the competitive sale process, valuation, transaction structuring and commercial negotiations through to completion.
The process was designed to create competition among a carefully selected group of strategic acquirers while balancing valuation with cultural fit, client continuity and the long-term position of Skybound Financial Planning's advisers and employees.
The transaction adds to Dyer Baade’s track record advising institutional investors and business owners on strategic transactions in UK wealth management.
